Predictive Model for Crime Prevention Project – Lo Barnechea

Through a research alliance with Lo Barnechea Municipality and its Citizen Security Observatory, GobLab UAI developed a predictive model that contributes to the municipal citizen security strategy. Using historical, geographical and contextual information, a group of predictive models were trained and implemented at the end of 2017, and then updated in mid-2018. The models generate heat maps that identify the areas with the highest risk of different types of crimes, which are used in the weekly planning of preventive patrols carried out by Lo Barnechea Seguridad.
